1. OTHER INFORMATION

Other Stuff: a- There will be a sub list compiled that all teams can utilize through out the season via the website to request subs/goalies when needed. These are the only subs that will be allowed to play in league games b- There will be a league party at end of the year... all monies (if any left over) will go back to the costs of the league party. c- There will be a league start up party too (this year it is Sept 18) d- There is online score reporting and online roster maintenance provides with this league. e- We have big time city backing for this league

2. Adult Hockey Practice - What is the adult practice league all about?

The adult practice league is primarily for adults new to the game of hockey and/or those adults wanting to improve their game. We want to cover and practice basics like puck control, passing, positional play, offense and defense strategies, skating, agility and more. The emphasis will be on practicing group drills and building team based skills.

3. Adult Hockey Practice - When and where are the practice sessions?

We will likely start with 2 practice sessions per month until we can get enough registered members to warrant adding a practice session once a week. Practices will be held at the Rec Center. These sessions will initially start at 9:45pm on Wednesday nights. The time will likely stay consistent throughout, but the day of the week can be flexible depending on demand.

4. Adult Hockey Practice - Who will be leading the adult practice sessions?

Think of these sessions like a gym where adults can participate in various Hockey drills, similar to drills that school teams use for their practices. We would like to have a coach or experienced player attend each practice session to lead drills, but this may not always be the case. Over time, adults that regularly attend these sessions will become familiar with various drills and will be able to lead newer members. When coaches and/or experienced players attend they will likely lead drills, answer questions and correct mistakes.

5. Adult Hockey Practice - What gear will I need to attend practice sessions?

Full battle rattle is recommended. At the very least the minimum in order to safely participate in on ice drills, i.e. a helmet.

6. Adult Hockey Practice - How do I pay for the league practice sessions?

The practice league will offer to sessions per month initially until demand picks up and then we would look to have a practice session once a week. The cost will be around $10 per session or $40 per month.

7. Adult Hockey Practice - Who to contact for more information?

Contact Bert Rivero at adulthockeypractice@gmail.com

8. Adult Hockey Practice - When will the practice league start?

August 10th at 9:45pm at the Rec Center South rink.

9. Adult Hockey Practice - Are kids allowed to practice during sessions?

Initially these practice sessions will be for adults only. With that said, if the practice sessions continue to increase in membership and there are several parents interested in having their kids practice too, then we will look for ways to add additional practice sessions specifically for parents and their children.

10. Can you request to be on the same team as someone?

Yes. You can request to be on a certain team or to be on the same team as someone else. If you want to register an entire roster you can do that too but each player must register individually or have your team captian do it for you (the reasoning is to get the correct information into the database that captains can pull mailing list as well as the master league lists from. After you have registered send the directors a message at the following email returnoftherobin@charter.net stating what team you want to be on.

11. What is up with Novice? It now says 1AM at Kasson? Last I saw it was Sunday. Need to know so the new folks turn up at the right time. Thanks

We had times locked in and ice but the Ice Hawks have pushed us out. We have been trying really hard to get times locked in for this weekend... but the only for sure Ice we can find is in Kasson at 6:30pm. We are still trying Rec late sat (after the Ice Hawks) or sun and will let everyone know this eve. Apologies for the cluster f#@k but we are working hard to get resolved. FYI: Next week the ROTR directors are sitting down with the city officials to get the schedule set in stone (no more messing with the times) and changing things so that we avoid this in the futureā€¦ thanks for your patience and see you on the ice something this weekend.

12. Refs. We hate when there are not refs. It always changes the game and even bad refs are better than none to even drop the puck. Whats the plan and how will you ensure they are there?

Right now refs are left open to the league captains to decide. There will be a league director, co-director and treasurer plus a captain from each team that will sit on a board. This board will discuss the rules, costs, playoffs etc etc.

13. Team numbers. Last year we played 3 teams 90% of the time. It got old. Variety is nice. Will there only be 4 teams, or are you looking at a 6 or 8 team league?

As of right now there will only be 5 teams. So you will play the same team every 4 weeks. We are making sure the teams are equal and that you do not play one team more then others (with the odd number of teams in the league you may end up playing twice in one weekend or have a by week).

14. Enforcing rosters and rules. I know there will be a captain based management, but you know the history of stacking comes playoffs. Will there be a method of stopping this kind of issue?

Yes the rosters will be enforced for the playoffs.
